Exploring the mealy mountains is no easy task the terrain is rugged and steep with deep flowing river canyons frozen over by the harsh cold the canyon walls offer good conditions for skin tracks and climbing up to the summit to overlook lake Melville sometimes being over 2000ft in elevation. The fun part comes after the climb descending steep coulairs through spaced out birch and spruce trees carving through deep powder all the way down where traditional Labrador tents await you for a warm-up and some good food cooked on the woodstove.
